Head of School
Chapelgate Christian Academy Marriottsville (Howard County), MD
A BRIEF SUMMARY OF OUR SCHOOL
Located conveniently between Baltimore and Washington on a large wooded parcel in a suburban community, Chapelgate Christian Academy (CCA) was founded in 1991 as a ministry of Chapelgate Presbyterian Church (CPC), a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). For the 2017-2018 academic year, enrollment is diverse with a PreK and K and 6th-12th grades population of 326 from many churches in the region; with a faculty and staff of 60. The School is accredited by both the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and by the Association of Christian Schools International.
Chapelgate offers a challenging, college preparatory well-rounded program, which fully integrates a Gospel focus into a Biblical world and life view. Extracurricular programs include theater, sports, fine arts, choral and instrumental music, and robotics. CCA students hold an 1176 SAT average, a 75% Senior AP pass rate, and nearly 100% are college bound. CCA has been named among the top 50 Christian High Schools in the U.S. by Bestschools.org in 2015 and 2016.
As our current Head of School moves into retirement after 26 years, CCA is looking for a spiritually mature, dynamic, and visionary educational leader for our new Head of School. The Head of School will have a collegial working relationship with the CCA Board and the CPC pastoral staff; and will lead a group of dedicated administrators, teachers, and staff. He or she will also enjoy the support of the CCA community; excellent facilities; and a rich history and heritage.
Candidates will possess a master’s degree in school administration, education, or a related field; along with administrative leadership experience at a comparable Christian, private, or public academic institution. Candidates will have the ability to speak and write clearly and persuasively; and will be expected to become a member of CPC.
