Isaiah 61:2-3 To comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.
Initially, the death of my husband; then remaining a single parent for over 20 years. He has been faithful.
Oh Lord Jesus, You Yourself wept when Your friend Lazarus was in the darkness of the tomb. You spoke to His family and declared Yourself the Resurrection and the Life! Truly You comfort us when we mourn; You alone can bring us beauty out of ashes, and joy from deep mourning. Plant us deep, Lord; help us to remain rooted in Your Word of Truth in order to display Your splendor - in dark times of despair as well as those of Joy, You remain with us always. Thank you for Your comforting faithfulness. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen.
