When disaster strikes, how can the church share the love of Jesus with those affected?  Did you know that the Presbyterian Church in America has a Disaster Response Ministry where you can volunteer and use your gifts to bring hope to those in desperate situations?

On Saturday October 26, 2024 8:30am-1pm Chapelgate Presbyterian Church will be hosting a training event for men, women and youth interested in serving in this important ministry.  Registration will open at 8am where we will have some refreshments and fellowship and the first morning session will begin at 8:30am. This will be a general training that will be interactive and informative including such topics as:

• What can I expect when I participate in a Disaster Response mission trip?

• How can my gifts and experience be used on a trip?

• Disaster basics of house mucking, mold remediation, roof tarping, and tree removal.

• Safety and health in Disaster Areas.

• Logistics: Lodging, food, what to pack.

• How to share the love of Jesus with those suffering hardships.

• How to apply Disaster Response ministry principles in your local community and with your neighbors.

Starting at 10:15 we will switch over to practical hands-on training.  There will be instruction and tips on roof repair including tarping, patching and safety, as well as instruction on drywall installation, finish, and repair. We will also be covering other safety issues including proper use of power tools.

Join us for a Vision Dessert here at Chapelgate!

Desserts will be provided, our Staff will share future plans and dreams, and our Building Committee will reveal the new design for our Sanctuary. Crayons and activity booklets will be available for children, as we want our Nursery Volunteers to be able to attend as well.

The evening will conclude outside in the footprint of the Sanctuary.

There we will pray together, and close with the Doxology and Benediction.

Kairo is finally back and we are SO ready for an awesome fall!

We’ll be starting off strong with classic Kairo gym games (dodgeball mat ball, chair ball) and some stage games (that may get you a free Snack Shack item!). We’ll hear a message from God’s word, pray and hang out together!

We can’t wait to see you all again, don’t forget to bring a friend!

Join us for our very first Girls Together meeting!

At this meeting we will explore the Bible and play some games. We will also be crafting a treasure box project to hold our Bible memory verses for the year. 

We will meet in the Nursery area at Chapelgate.

The ages for the groups are as follows:

Voyagers: Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders

Pathfinders: 3rd and 4th graders

Trailblazers: 5th and 6th graders

For those coming to DivorceCare at Chapelgate for the first time, here's what you can expect:

When you arrive, we will sign you in, make sure you have a DivorceCare workbook and have snacks/drinks provided. We will go over basic guidelines that are intended to help make our discussions respectful, confidential and relevant. Our leaders will share their stories, and then you will be invited to share as well if you feel comfortable.

We will view the DivorceCare video and discuss together. No religious background is expected from anyone attending, and all are welcome. We do give recommendations and view content based upon Christian principles. Advice from counselors, pastors and health care professionals is practical and can apply to anyone.

Some of the topics that we cover include anger, loneliness, finances and conflict.

We hope you will feel comfortable, welcomed and ministered to by our meetings.

Also Sunday, September 1st, at 10:30am, we're kicking off/bringing back our FULL preteen (4th-5th grade) class. They will now have their own separate bible story and large group activity time with their leaders and peers in the Chapel. They will continue to be dropped off and picked up at the Chapel.

Kids entering into Kindergarten will be able to attend upstairs in Kaleidoscope on this date.

Kids entering into middle school this fall will now attend Awake with our middle schoolers at 9am, and join the main service at 10:30am!
