Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Our oldest son struggles with neuro-developmental disorders that make learning, working, socializing, and living a “normal” life very difficult for him. He will probably always live with us and as we approach the autumn of our lives, while he is yet in the early summer of his, we wonder and worry how it will be...down the road.

Heavenly Father, when I am tempted to fear how our son will be able to manage all the activities of daily living when we are old and gone, you remind me how precious he is to you. When I am arrogant enough to believe that I can manage everything he needs, only to be confronted by an obstacle that seems like a mountain, you show me that you love him more than I can. In this small verse I rest assured, blessedly assured, that you will care for his every need. He is your sparrow! Amen.
